At Asé Arts, we believe in the power of art to foster connection, self-expression, and community transformation. Rooted in the meaning of "Asé"—a force that makes things happen—we bring people together through the process of art making. Utilizing art as a tool for personal growth and social impact.

**Youth Programming**

Asé Arts offers **dynamic visual art experiences** for **young creators** through **6–10 week Youth Art Classes** and **week-long Summer Camps** held throughout the **Bay Area**. Our programs foster **skill development** and **creative exploration**.

**Adult Programming**

Asé Arts offers **1–2 day workshops** designed for **adults of all skill levels**. These **hands-on sessions** foster **artistic exploration**, **personal expression**, and **community connection**.

Joining us for the first time this year is for Goblin Jamboree is Lin, a Criminal Justice student at SF State. Her creativity and sense of humor make every project come alive! For Lin, art is an act of care and self-expression — a way to share love, laughter, and imagination. “A fond memory of art is when a celebration is coming up, I turn and create a gift,” Lin says. “Crafting and creating art is such a fun skill to have, and I put dedication into everything I make for others.” From handmade gifts to playful creations like her Cat Spider 🐈🕷️, Lin brings joy and authenticity to every piece she makes

3 WEEKENDS IN JULY we gathered in community with Artists @jackiefawn @slateandrust and @ladyreniart. We identified the native plants of the region. We discussing invasive plants that now cover much of Tamal-Liwa, as we walked down to Felix Cove, to say HELLO to the water. Spotting an Eagle along the way the day was nothing short of magical. In our third gathering we foraged equisetum, artemisia vulgaris and rubus armeniacus to make dye baths. Closing out the series doing short studies using our observational drawing skills. Painting with an oak & eucalyptus botanical ink made by @slateandustthat. That gave off a warm, rich brown to create with. This artist was in puree bliss. Greatful to the @alliance4felixcove and their team for organizing the Rematriation series song and music, art & natural color.

Thank you to the community that came out yesterday to see the Art Near BART. @temescalartscommunity held a really nice opening reception. We saw many artists whose faces were beaming as they proudly presented their work. The work will remain up throughout the year. MOBILIZE, ORGANIZE, OCCUPY ‘Three Moments of Bay Area Activism Through the Lens of Kenneth P. Green Sr.’ A wonderful way to commemorate Black August, deepen your political awareness of three grassroots movements that took place between 1960-1970 in the Bay Area. These movements laid the ground work for the social and political resistance that shapes the Bay to this day. This exhibition highlights three actions from the Kenneth P. Green Sr. Photography Archive: a Black Panther rally in Richmond following the police killing of Denzil Dowell; the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and Laney College’s March Against Repression; and the 19-month Occupation of Alcatraz asserting Indigenous rights. Through his camera, Green documented these pivotal and interconnected events, plus many others, telling a story of self-determination and the ongoing fight for justice – when individuals across different communities mobilized, organized, and stood together. Kenneth P. Green Sr. was the first African American staff photographer for the Oakland Tribune, a position he held from 1968 until his untimely death in 1982. In just over a decade, Green captured some of the most significant social and political changes of his time. Exploring Gelli Prints Workshop

Loved the time spent with Nichole in her perfect art space on Broadway! She had snacks and drinks ready for us when we arrived and we spent our time quickly learning about the process and then jumped in to start experimenting. Nichole was a great teacher and encouraged us to explore colors, layers, and textures. It was a lovely way to spend time with a friend while in a relaxing, creative environment. We would definitely do it again.

Our son was complaining about "too much art!" at preschool until Nichole helped him dress his body tracing in a hand-sewn Batman costume. He was smiling with pride when he showed me the completed project - and Nichole was too! Take advantage of any opportunity your child has to make art with Nichole - such a talented, committed artist comes along only so often.
