Bodies of Work
Each collection on this page represents a chapter in my creative journey—deep personal explorations through layering symbolism in printmaking, painting, sculpture, and fibers. These bodies of work are more than finished pieces; they are visual stories rooted in healing, heritage, and intention.
The Power of Nature
A two-part series featuring vibrant imagery and symbolic storytelling, exploring the spiritual and elemental power of traditional African religions as they evolved in the Americas through the forced migration of Transatlantic Passage. These sacred traditions found new life through spiritual systems such as Santería, Candomblé, Vodou, and Hoodoo.
Each piece in the series portrays an Orixa as a human-like embodiment of the elemental forces—Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire. These deities represent more than nature’s raw power; they symbolize the strength, perseverance, cultural preservation, spiritual resilience, and ancestral connection of the
African Diaspora.
