It’s Official: Asé Arts Is Open to the Public

On October 1, 2021, Asé Arts officially opened the doors to its brick and mortar on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, CA—a cornerstone art studio utilizing the arts as a catalyst to provoke thought, conversation, and change. Holding space for creativity & community gathering Asé Arts is investing in the health and well-being of the community building connections through the process of art making. 

Sistahs of the Drum

The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive as kicked off the opening
with a libation and calling in of our ancestors, a performance by the Sistahs Of The Drum and some home cooked Cameroon food prepared by A Taste of Africa. Joined by neighbors, colleagues, family and friends we broke bread, listened to music, danced, laughed and made connections while celebrating our new beginnings.

The opening of this space is just the beginning. As we settle into this new home, we invite the community to join us in making some art. We envision Asé Arts growing and expanding our offerings as we deepen our impact throughout the Bay.
