Meet Our New Team members for Goblin Jamboree! 🎃

Asé Arts is proud to partner once again with the Bay Area Discovery Museum for their family fundraising event Goblin Jamboree, a beloved Halloween celebration that sparks creativity and imagination for families across the Bay Area.

Our collaboration began in 2023 when the museum’s Head of Museum Experience, Ashley Arron, invited Asé Arts to help bring greater diversity and representation of Black and Brown artists and educators into the museum’s creative programming. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that children see themselves reflected in the art, stories, and experiences that shape their understanding of the world.

This year, we’re thrilled to welcome two talented young ladies Dana Hernandez is returning for her fourth event with Asé Arts at the museum and Lin Hernandez is joining us for the first this year. Their contribution and compassion will help make this year’s event a vibrant, memorable experience for families.

🌿 Meet Dana Hernandez

Hello! My name is Dana Hernandez, and I’m currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology at Cal State East Bay in Hayward. College has been an empowering journey, guiding me toward my goal of becoming a therapist who helps children understand and embrace their emotions.

“Many adults were never given the tools to navigate emotional challenges while balancing societal expectations,” Dana shares. “I believe that addressing these issues early in life can empower individuals to embrace their strengths rather than be held back by fear.”

For Dana, art has always been a refuge—a space to escape fear and enter a world of creativity. It has become her love language, an accessible way for anyone to express themselves and create something meaningful. Whether she’s making handmade cards for loved ones or guiding children through creative exploration, Dana finds joy in helping others connect through art. She is bilingual in Spanish which really comes in handy when connecting and inclusion with Spanish speaking families visiting the museum.

✨ Meet Linnette Hernandez

Hi! My name is Lin Hernandez, and I am currently attending San Francisco State University, where I’m studying Criminal Justice. For me, art has always been a way to express care and creativity.

“A fond memory of art is when a celebration is coming up, I turn and create a gift,” Lin says. “Crafting and creating art is such a fun skill to have, and I put dedication into everything I make for others.”

Linnette’s creativity shines through in her clever humor that she incorporates into her art . Check out her Cat Spider! Embodying the spirit of Asé Arts — using art as a form of self-expression.
